The Great Gatsby- Signs and Signifiers

The type of representation we were trying to show in this poster was class. That is why we used a gold colour for the main text, and a champagne glass and a bow tie. These items are all associated with the higher class. We were influence by the fancy, expensive, wealthy style of the film. For this reason we used a white backdrop as white is generally associated with wealth. The film has an element of destruction to it, and ends with a completely desolate party, which is why we used a smashed glass.
